Breakfast and Surfing!

Aloha!

The morning consisted of sleeping a full 12 hours (after a week of 3 hr nights preparing for the wedding and move) and some room service breakfast!  Waffles with bananas, strawberries and whipped cream... with a bonus of coconut syrup.  Awesome.

However, there was some wildlife around that decided to try and get at the food... Sarah made sure that their presence was not welcome.

But, Sarah has a weakness for cute kitty cats...

And its relatives...

Cats were not the only creatures invited to breakfast... the wildlife on the most isolated islands in the world is quite surprising!

The view from our cottage looking toward the resort.

 And the other direction...

Sarah is one pretty lady!!!  And now my wife, so back off men.

A pretty cool statue of a tribesman outside of our resort

Surfing time.  After many typical laid back surfing words we felt prepared and headed off to the ocean.  Paddle dude, stable as a table (go to your knees), front leg forward man, stand and feel the burn while squatting and you're off!

Sarah, of course, gets up on her first try!  Awesome!  She rides it all the way to shore it was so fun... sadly that means a lot of paddling back :)

While trying to paddle parallel to shore to get to the instructor, a huge wave hits me and it turns my board toward shore... well i might as well stand!  I get up on my first try since I was 18 and am off!  However, if you notice the girl in the left of the picture... she's not moving out of my way, and theres no way I'm controlling this crazy thing...

Wam Bam Thank You Ma'am!  I nailed her right night the gut with a 12 foot surf board... whoops.  She was ok.  Here are a couple more of us getting up!  I think we got up 75% of the time and our instructor said that Sarah was one of the best he has seen for her first try!  She got up four times in a row at the beginning.

However, we all fall here and there...  right?  Sarahs got a sweet stance on this one.

And for the last run we decided to try to get up on the same wave at the same time!  The crowd in the background thought this was pretty cool... Awesome Valentines Day!

But, my wave bailed on me, so I gave the rock on sign to Sarah and she rode it all the way home.

What an awesome first day to the honeymoon.  We had quite the adventure and look forward to more tomorrow!  Stay tuned for more from Mr. and Mrs. Versackas :)
